Services Performed
- Removed faulty purge solenoid and ensured no debris or contaminants were present in line(s). Installed new valve, re-calibrated and retested. Purge solenoid and evap system are functioning without issue at this time- All components operate as necessary during normal vehicle operation and when commanded by scan tool.
- Technician verified history code is present- P1450, pertaining to evap system fault. Checked and verified that filler neck and gas door are not corroded or damaged to create pressure leak- No immediate issues found. Inspected evap system further to verify no damaged or leaking lines were present in fuel tank area or under hood and found none. Technician began checking function of both canister vent valve and purge solenoid. Vent valve tested good and functioned as requested by scan tool Technician noted that purge solenoid was sticking when commanded to open- Removed component and inspected for obvious signs of external damage and found none. Recommend replacement of purge solenoid, re-calibration and re-inspection. Customer advised and approved repair
