    • Technician installed front caliper covers and found that fitment between covers and inside of wheels has minimal clearance. Technician found that rear caliper covers are too large to fit with current wheel and tire setup. Technician did not install rear covers and customer was advised that larger diameter wheel would be needed to properly clear caliper covers. Test drove with front caliper covers installed and did not notice any noise or contact at this time however, customer advised that should any movement or flex be had in front wheel/brake components, the caliper covers might rub on wheels. No other work performed.

    • Technician confirmed that there is significant noise, primarily from right rear of vehicle. Upon further assessment, technician noted that immediately upon lifting vehicle, right rear wheel has significant movement indicating that wheel bearing and/or other failures are present. Attempted to remove lug nuts and wheel to further inspection extent of damage but one lug nut is seized and will not come off. At this time, showed customer initial findings and advised that moving forward with inspection will result in broken wheel stud and require further repairs. Customer requested estimate for potential worst case scenario- Provided customer estimate for, right rear brake drum, spindle, brake shoes and hardware. Customer does not wish to perform further inspection or repairs and will have vehicle towed back to repair shop closer to home. No further work performed.

    • PULLED VEHICLE IN AND VERIFIED ALTERNATOR PROBLEM, SCANNED CODES AND FOUND CODES P0625-00 GENERATOR FIELD/ F TERMINAL CIRCUIT LOW AND P065B-00 GENERATOR CONTROL CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE. TESTING POWER AND GROUND AT THE ALTERNATOR FOUND THE ALTERNATOR IS GROUNDED FINE, BUT NO POWER COMING OUT OF THE ALTERNATOR, LEADING TO THE THOUGHT THERE WAS A BREAK IN THE CIRCUIT SOMEWHERE. TRACING THE CIRCUIT UP TO THE FUSE BOX, FOUND A LOCATION ON THE HARNESS WHERE IT IS ATTACHED TO A BRACKET ABOVE THE TRANSMISSION COOLER, THAT A ZIP TIE HAD RUBBED THROUGH THE INSULATION AND CAUSED AN OPEN CIRCUIT. REPAIR OF HARNESS IS NECESSARY.
